This is the pilot episode of a news series presented by YouTube in conjunction with Café Mom Studios. The series is produced Prime Content. In the pilot, Suzanne takes viewers through her revolutionary breast reconstruction surgery.  I was the primary editor on the first six episodes of the series.

Seattle-based Hatcher Marketing brought me back to LA to oversee post on a series of informational web spots for Microsoft in May, on a tight ten day turnaround.

All four of the spots featured interactivity with computer displays, and three had to have their content created, tracked, & composited in post.  We shot RED and finished 1080p.

A second editor and I cut the spots on set, and then I handled all of content-capturing, tracking, comp’ing, and color-correction in a week-long marathon just outside of Monroe, WA at Hatcher HQ.

Our mandate was to produce traditional 1 minute spots based on creative already developed by an agency for a series of interactive video banner ads. So, while these spots are a little dry, our direction was clear and the challenge was in recreating (or hopefully bettering!) what the agency had done on a much bigger budget, on an extremely short turnaround. Directed by Matt Snyder.

I was privileged to cut, as well as serve on the producing team, for this quirky independent comedy in 2009. The story revolves two misfits from rural Oklahoma who ply their rock and roll trade in the brutal underground world of competitive karaoke. A festival darling, RNRDDC completed a robust tour of the festival circuit in 2010, playing at 17 and winning at 9.

In addition to cutting the film, I supervised the online conform at 2k, colored it, and did many of the films visual effects. I was one of two editors on the above trailer. We shot on RED One, Build 17, and finished in Final Cut Pro and Apple Color.  The film stars Marshall Bell, Jack Roberts, Peter Bedgood, and Lizz Carter. Official Site.

This independent feature starring Michael Madsen and Bollywood sensation Gulshan Grover follows the struggles of an Indian immigrant as he endeavors to build a new life in New York City in the 1970s.  Performed in a distinctly Indian aesthetic, and directed by a French Algerian, the film has a distinct style.

I was brought in by Director Salim Khassa near the end of post-production to refine and finalize the edit.  I also cut the trailer, and designed the opening titles.  The project was shot on the F23 at 1080p.

YouTube’s advertising sales team needed a sizzle highlighting their biggest advertising and viral content successes of 2010 to use in soliciting their advertising business for 2011. They called Pomegranate. Pomegranate called me.

From the start, we wanted to do something a little more conceptual than the typical corporate sizzle, and this is what we created.

I was responsible for building this spot from the ground up, working from a list of what the client wanted included, and did all the screen capturing, editing, compositing, and motion graphics. This is the agency cut.

This is a compilation of my work cutting music videos and performances for various artists, including Tim McGraw, Alice in Chains, and The Bravery.

When fashion photographer Jim Jordan shot a new campaign for Asian jeweller, TSL, he concurrently directed a series of spots to accompany the print campaign. After establishing the look for the campaign with the stills, he needed a colorist to bring that look to the spots. I got the call. (More videos after the jump)

I worked closely with Mr. Jordan to refine the look of the spots, shot by shot, paying particular attention to the skin tone look which is an integral part of his signature look as a print photographer. The raw footage had been shot on Canon 7D, almost a full stop under, and with a warm balance.

I did the online and conform for “Bed & Breakfast: Love is a Happy Accident” starring Dean Cain, John Savage, and Eric Roberts.

“Bed & Breakfast” is a romantic comedy about two people from different worlds who fall in love despite their ownership dispute over a house in the California wine country. It was the feature directorial debut for Brazilian TV star, Marcio Garcia, and producer Fabio Golombek approached me to conform the film and prep it for color.

The film was shot on RED, in addition to pickups on DSLR and XDCam, at several mismatched frame rates. I worked from the offline 720p edit to conform back to the .R3D, to fix both the frame-rate issues and corrupted LUTs on half the RED footage, break into reels, and then export a final 2k .DPX sequence to the colorist.

Scheduling conflicts at the time precluded me from serving as colorist on the project.

Murad typically markets its various skincare products, including <a href="htt but Acne Complex, primarily through direct response infomercials and short form spots. Launch DRTV produces most of those ads, and I have cut a number of them over the years.
